PARANORMAL 3 Directors Found
With Paramount Pictures having already selected October 21 as the release date for Paranormal Activity 3, the studio is ready to announce the men selected to lead its direction. Variety reports that Catfish co-directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman will be taking turns behind the camera on the origin tale, based on a screenplay by returning writer Christopher B. Landon (Paranormal Activity 2).
Original director Oren Peli is returning to produce with Jason Blum, while Steven Schneider and Akiva Goldsman will serve as exec producers. Joost and Schulman recently gained attention when their low-budget "Catfish" grossed nearly $3.5 million worldwide en route to becoming a cultural sensation due to questions surrounding the pic's authenticity.
Plot Concept: The third film is being envisioned as an origin story set in the 1980s that will follow a new family.
Paranormal Activity haunts theaters October 21, 2011.
