Netflix to pay Starz more than $200M annually
RANCHO PALOS VERDES, Calif. – Netflix CEO Reed Hastings says the online video company will keep writing big checks for movies and TV shows, including more than $200 million a year to keep Starz' pay TV programming on its streaming plan.
Hastings told the "D: All Things Digital" conference on Wednesday that cutting a deal for that amount "wouldn't be shocking" especially as the company keeps adding subscribers and rolls out globally. The deal for Starz programming, which adds original shows such as "Spartacus" and movies from The Walt Disney Co. and Sony Corp. to Netflix Inc.' streaming plan, expires next year. Analysts have said a deal in the range of $200 million to $300 million a year is likely, which is around 10 times what Netflix is paying now. (AP)

StarZ is really stepping there game up and they will be enhacing there Espanol programming for the additional channels on DISH online in August. DISH Network's dishonline.com gives me access to more TV channels and movies at no additional charge. I can’t wait to see Spartacus on StarZ and even if I miss the first episode I can still go back and watch it on DISH online. A co-worker at DISH told me that we have some Hulu TV shows available as well. Check it out http://bit.ly/dJzWgo.
