JOE PESCI AND ROBERT DE NIRO |
It's hard to fathom seeing Robert De Niro and Joe Pesci reuniting on the silver screen based on a story from a popular videogame but it's looking like something which may become a reality. We know Sony and Columbia Pictures are moving forward with Uncharted: Drake's Fortune---an adaptation of the best-selling game---with Mark Wahlberg set to star and David O. Russell set to direct. And with both De Niro and Pesci in talks to join the production (not a done deal yet), helmer Russell sat down with the Los Angeles Times' 24 Frames to discuss where they're at in the development stage.

Plot Concept: Based on the popular 2007 game from Sony, the story follows a descendant of explorer Sir Francis Drake, a treasure hunter named Nate Drake who believes he has learned the whereabouts of El Dorado, the fabled South American golden city, from a cursed golden statue. The search becomes competitive when a rival hunter joins the fray, then is ratcheted up several notches when creatures -- actually mutated descendants of Spaniards and Nazis -- begin attacking those hoping to learn the treasure's true secrets.
