Twista Makes A Movie To Spotlight Chicago Violence

Chi-Town MC says upcoming DVD 'Mr. Immortality: The Life and Times of Twista' will show what's 'going on in the middle of the map.'

That's the case with Twista, whose next project is a DVD titled "Mr. Immortality: The Life and Times of Twista." Part behind the scenes, part informative visual, the veteran MC looks to put a spotlight on the violence that's been plaguing his Chicago hometown.
"I am putting it out to give you the other side of me and let people see a little more of Twista's swag and how he does things," he told Mixtape Daily. "But it was more so, too, for me to have the opportunity to explain about the Midwest and what's going on with the violence and things like that. And how it [was] coming up in the city of Chicago when I look back, and what I think needs to be done. I used [this project] as a platform to do that."

The DVD is an admitted change of pace for the speedy lyricist, who released his latest solo album, The Perfect Storm, earlier this month. The 11-track set is vintage Twista, featuring production from his longtime producer the Legendary Traxster. His collaboration with Chris Brown, "Make a Movie," is currently resting at #15 on the Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop songs chart.

With "Mr. Immortality: The Life and Times of Twista," however, Twista is opening his art up to a new source of inspiration. Mtv.com
