Lin Confirmed for FAST 6

With Fast Five breaking April (and 2011) box office records by pulling in $83 million last weekend in domestic ticket sales, we didn't expect it long before franchise director Justin Lin was confirmed to lead a Fast & Furious 6 installment over at Universal Pictures. And It didn't take long at all. USA Today caught up with the helmer who has also been recently linked to taking over a new Terminator tale and Justin didn't play shy on the prospects of returning to the popular property.

"It's pretty much 100 percent," Lin says, "It's going to happen. At five, we're just hitting our stride. We're growing. People want to continue this journey."

With the fifth installment raking in $182 million after just four days of global release, that statement is likely very accurate. And producer-star Vin Diesel has echoed the scenario in the past by suggesting that fourth, fifth and next film would form a trilogy-like bookend to the original three films. The action star also suggested last year that it would be switching to a European location. Mania.com
